Billet
Billet is a semi-finished product formed by casting the steel made in the steelmaking furnace, mainly used for rolling plates, profiles, wire rods and other steel, which needs to be further processed through rolling or forging to become an end product. Common forms include slabs (large cross-section aspect ratio, used for rolling plates) and billets (nearly square cross-section, used for rolling sections).
